Roller skate comprising two wheels 9, 21 arranged longitudinally in line and in the axis of a sole 2 rendered integral with a boot having an upper 1, in which the front wheel 9 swivels when, from a certain angle of bearing on the said wheel, its pivot 5 is unlocked, and in which the rear wheel 21 is equipped with a braking device manoeuvred automatically by the simple upward oscillating movement of the sole 2, making it possible to slow down and also stop the skater. These roller skates enable skaters to move in the same manner as on ice, regardless of the place, season and ground surface. They make it possible to perform conventional and artistic skating figures. <IMAGE>
