PURPOSE:To minimize the variations of a head arm, a carriage, etc. due to temperature rise by adhering the component materials of each of the head arm or the carriage to a part of head arm or the carriage respectively together with other materials of different coefficients of heat expansion. CONSTITUTION:A head arm 8 containing a magnetic head 9 is attached to a carriage 7 with a bolt 15, and the carriage 7 is supported by a shaft 16. Both the arm 8 and the carriage 7 are made of aluminum Al and have a comparatively high coefficient of thermal expansion. Here the variations of the arm 8, the carriage 7, etc. due to the temperature rise inside a magnetic disk device are minimized. For this purpose, a component 17 having a different coefficient of thermal expansion from the Al material is adhered to the side surface of the arm 8 or to the surface of a side plate 14 fixed to the carriage set at the rear end of the arm 8 in case the head 9, for example, has a position variance toward an arrow A.
