PURPOSE:To permit to effect ignition of gas as well as delivery of water 1 from a tap by one operating unit by a method wherein the operating unit is provided with first position, in which water is supplied, second position, in which gas is supplied to a pilot burner and is ignited, and third position, in which the gas is supplied to a main burner. CONSTITUTION:First guide groove 32 and second guide groove 33, connecting to the central side of the first guide groove 32 at one end thereof, are formed on the lower surface of a main operating cam 26 while a slanted surface 34 is formed at the connecting position of the first groove 32 and the second groove 33 so that the second groove 33 becomes shallow. Third groove 37, communicating with the first groove 32 or the second groove 33 of the main operating cam when the cam is moved, is formed on the lower surface of a sub operating cam 35. The operating unit 38 is constituted of an operating lever 22, a gear 23, the main operating cam 26 and the sub operating cam 35. According to this method, the gas may be ignited and hot-water may be discharged by operating only the operating unit while the operability of the device may be improved and the pilot burner may be prevented from being forgotten to extinguish it. |
