The present invention relates to a bucket elevator comprising four parallel endless chains 305a to 305d passing around several chain wheels 312 to 315, 316a, 316b, 317a, 317b, and driven by means of a chain-drive wheel, and several buckets 305 connected at regular intervals to the endless chains by link devices 400, 500. Each link device comprises two transverse connection members of elongate shape connected respectively to the front and rear ends of the lower face of the bottom of the associated bucket 306, a first connection member being fastened via its opposite ends to the bottom of the bucket, the other connection member being mounted pivotally on the transverse central line of the bottom of the bucket, the connection members being connected via their opposite ends to the endless chains 305a to 305d by means of lever mechanisms and of link-arm mechanisms. The invention ensures better distribution of the load exerted on the chains. <IMAGE>
