摘要 PURPOSE:To improve the efficiency of an oxygen pump operation by controlling the flow of the gas to be measured in the 1st diffusion control layer on the side near the 2nd electrode by the 2nd diffusion control layer in such a way that the gas flows from a pump working electrode and sensor working electrode. CONSTITUTION:The 1st electrode 24 and an uncalcined solid electrolyte 25 having oxygen ion conductivity are successively laminated on an uncalcined diaphragm layer 22 embedded internally with a heating element 23 and the uncalcined pump- and sensor working electrodes 26a and 26b are arrayed thereon to form the 2nd electrode 26. The 1st and 2nd diffusion control layers 27, 28 are further laminated on the electrolyte 25 and the electrode 26 and are calcined to manufacture an oxygen sensor 21. The pump cell constituted of the electrodes 24, 26a and the electrolyte 25 are connected to a pump working power source, the sensor cell constituted of the electrodes 24, 26b and the electrode 25 to a voltage detecting means and the element 23 to a power electric source for the heating element, respectively. A layer 27 is brought into contact with the gas to be measured and the inflow of the gas to the layer 27 is controlled by a layer 28.
