PURPOSE:To raise the corrosion resistance of a steel sheet pile by a method in which a powdery granular resin is melted by heating and adhered to the surface of the steel sheet pile with couplers to form a primary covering layer, and a secondary covering layer is formed on the primary covering layer by melting a resin pellet excluding the fitting portion of the couplers. CONSTITUTION:A powdery granular resin (e.g., polyethylene, polypropylene, polyester, etc.) is melted by heating and adhered to the surface of a steel sheet pile 1 to form the primary covering layer 2. The same resin pellets 3 are melted and adhered to the surface of the layer 2 excluding at least the fitting portion of the coupler 1A to form the secondary covering layer 4. A desired thickness of the primary covering layer 2 can thus be formed even on curved surface of steel sheet pile with various curved faces and also even on the fitting face of the coupler 1A. The steel sheet pile can have excellent corrosion resistance, and the impact resistance and wear resistance of the pile can also be raised by forming the secondary covering layer 4. |
