A tubing joint comprises a catching piece (22) whose claws bite the outer wall of a tube to prevent the inserted tube from escaping, and a release-ring (25) to release the bite of the claws. The length of the release-ring (25) is arranged in such a way that, when the inserted tube (18) with the claws biting its outer wall is pulled slightly outwardly, the claws are caused to make an arcuate rotation about the outer extremity of the piece (22) as a rotational fulcrum until they are brought to a position (Q) sightly over the position of maximum bite, and come into contact with an end of the release-ring (25) when in its outermost position to define that position (Q). |
