Compounds of general formula (I), their pharmaceutically acceptable salts and in-vivo hydrolysable esters are antibacterial agents; in which R<1> is optionally substituted phenyl or optionally substituted 5 or 6-membered heterocyclyl; R<2> is substituted amino; R<3> is H or alkyl; R<4> is H, CH3 or CH3COO; R<5> is H, -OCH3 or -NHCO; Y is in formula (II), Y<1> is -O-, -S-, or -CH2-; and Z is H, halogen or organic.
