摘要 PURPOSE:To smoothly start a cycloconverter by sequentially connecting phase advance capacitors divided at a power receiving terminal after a cycloconverter body is started, thereby suppressing a rush current to the capacitors. CONSTITUTION:A reactive power control type cycloconverter CC is started at the body by closing a switch SW0, and phase advance capacitors CAP are connected by closing switches SW1-SW4. A reactive power is controlled by detecting the advance reactive power of an AC power source BUS by a reactive power calculator VAR, and controlled by the prescribed phase control angle alphaP, alphaN through a phase controller pH together with a command value Q from a reactive power instruction circuit QR or a circulating current command value I0 and a load current command value IL. In this case, the capacitor CAP is divided into a plurality (4 in the drawings), and the switches SW1-SW4 are sequentially closed. Thus, it is controlled so that the basic wave power factor at the power receiving terminal becomes 1 at every contact to enter a normal drive operation.
