PURPOSE:To connect automatically a different line with simple circuit constitution by connecting an automatic dial circuit selectively to plural different lines, detecting the state of the different lines and switching and using the lines automatically. CONSTITUTION:When a facsimile control section 4 is connected to an opposite party via an external line, a hook-off detecting circuit 7 discriminates whether or not a telephone set I is in talking. When the telephone set I is not busy, a switch 1 is changed over to the position (b) to disconnect the telephone set I and connects the automatic dial circuit 3 to an external line via a switch 2, the switch 1, the hook-off detecting circuit 7, a switch 4 and a test circuit 5. When a transmission request of a picture signal exists from the opposite party to the said facsimile control section 4 via an external line or an extension, a call signal detecting circuit 11 or 12 detects the said transmission request, changes over the switch 4 to the position (g) and a switch 9 to the position (k) respectively thereby connecting the external line or the extension to the facsimile control section 4.
