PURPOSE:To execute an adequate hotographing, and to prevent the waste of photographing based on a counting discord by displaying separately a summed- up frame number and a continuous photographing frame number of a counting means by a swithcing means, on a display element. CONSTITUTION:When a recording medium is loaded to a camera, a summing-up counter 2 is released from the its reset, and when a release button is push-operated by switching continuously a continuous/frame switching circuit 9, an output of a release signal generating circuit 1 becomes H and an output of an AND gate 10 becomes H, and an AND gate 11 makes a pulse of a track/frame feed completing signal generating circuit 4 generated with the photographing pass through. On the other hand, an output of an NOR gate 15 becomes L, a continuous counter 3 is released from its reset and counts a pulse of the gate 11, a data selector 5 outputs a count value of the counter 3 and the number of frames of th continuous photographing is displayed on a display element 6. Subsequently, when the continuous photographing is discontinued by releasing the pressing operation of the release button, the selector 5 outputs a count value of the counter 2 instead of the count value of the counter 3.
