Fire place with an open combustion chamber (1), a chimney breeching (9) and a fresh air chamber (28) traversed by an additional gas flue tube system (19, 22a, 22b, 23) which coming from the combustion chamber enters into the fresh air chamber and after having traversed it, discharging into the chimney breeching characterized in that - the gas flue tube system (19, 22a, 22b, 23) traverses meander-shaped the fresh air chamber (28) and that - a closable louver (11) for the opening of the combustion chamber and a hinged cover (13) for the chimney breeching (9) between the combustion chamber and the entrance of the gas flue tube system as well as - means for conducting the combustion air into the combustion chamber (1) bypassing the closable louver are forseen. |
