PURPOSE:To prevent the occurrence of a cracking by irradiating the extent of a specified distance from the abutted face with the different kinds of metals by a shaded high energy beam and then irradiating the high energy beam within the specified distance of a high melting point metal side. CONSTITUTION:In the welding of the different kinds of metals such as super hard metal 1 and steel 2, the two metals are preheated by the irradiating a shaded high energy beam in and extent within 10mm from the abutted face 3. Then, the high energy beam is irradiated in the extent of 0.1-1.0mm of the super hard metal 1 side having high a melting point. By such a way, the super hard metal 1 side is molten preferentially, and at the same time, the steel 2 is molten by the melting heat of the high melting point alloy and joined. Further, because of preheating, no thermo-electromotive force between different kinds of metals is generated. Accordingly, the generation of cracks in the vicinity of a weld junction can be prevented. |
