The invention relates to a device for decreasing the pollutants in exhaust gases of relatively small combustion plants. In the condensation device, which sits on the top of the stack, the exhaust gas stream is deflected over cooling surfaces - which themselves are cooled by exterior air or by another coolant - in such a manner that a condensation of the steam contained in the exhaust gases takes place with absorption of SO2. The acidic condensate is discharged.
