PURPOSE:To improve the driving property, productivity and reliability by forming color filters and electrodes on a transparent base by vapor deposition to constitute at least one of a substrate contg. a semiconductor driving circuit and a substrate facing the same. CONSTITUTION:A gate electrode 1, an insulating layer 2, a semiconductor layer 3, an ohmic contact layer 4, a source electrode 5, a drain electrode 6 and a semiconductor array for driving of picture element electrodes 7 are formed on a substrate S1 and a transparent supporting substrate S2 having a counter electrode 10 via a liquid crystal layer 12 having the thickness of the spacer 13 faces said substrate. The substrates S1, S2 are in contact with the layer 12 via insulating layers 8, 11. The color filters 9 consisting of a dye layer formed by vapor deposition are provided in the positions corresponding to the electrode 7 between the substrate S2 and the electrode 10, thus forming color segments. One picture element is formed by using the color segments for a color display of natural colors. |
