PURPOSE:To provide always proper speed change ratio in a variable pulley system continuously variable transmission which moves one pulley of a pair of pulleys with a feed screw shaft pivoted through a propelling lever, by controlling a drive source of the propelling lever according to the speed change condition. CONSTITUTION:This continuously variable speed change mechanism SL has main and auxiliary pulleys 1, 13 consisting of pairs of opposed disks 1A, 1B and 13A, 13B having tapered internal surfaces respectively. Rotary rollers 6 secured fixedly to a rotary shaft 3 of the disk 1B are inserted in a roller groove 4 of a tubular rotary shaft 2 of the disk 1A of the main pulley 1 so that both shafts 2, 3 are coupled with each other to rotate synchronously and slide relatively. Also, a propelling lever 8 integrally provided on a gear 9 rotated by a motor 12 is adapted to abut against the end face of the rotary shaft 2 through a bearing 5, and screwed onto a feed screw shaft 7 fixed to the fixed side by bolts 23. And the motor 12 is controlled by a control unit to provide speed change ratio for maintaining the running condition of the minimum rate of fuel consumption. |
