发明名称 SURFACE LUBRICATING METHOD OF MAGNETIC RECORDING MEDIUM
摘要 PURPOSE:To assure high wear resistance and to decrease the coefft. of friction between a magnetic head and a recording medium by overcoating a fluorocarbon lubricating agent having >=2 active polar groups on the magnetic recording medium then baking the same by heating at >=60 deg.C. CONSTITUTION:A soln. prepd. by dissolving the perfluoropolyether which is expressed by the molecular formula CH3-OOC-CF2O(CF2O)m-(C2F4O)n-CF-COO-CH3 (where m, n are integers) and has two polarities at the terminal of the molecular chain at 0.005% concn. is used as a surface lubricating agent. Such soln. is overcoated on the surface of a magnetic disk in which the thin continuous film of gamma-Fe2O3 is used as a magnetic film and thereaftaer the coating is baked by heating at >=60 deg.C. The resulted magnetic medium has the coeft. of friction as low as <=0.2. The coefft. of friction between the magnetic head and the recording medium is decreased and the high wear resistance is obtd. according to the above-mentioned surface lubricating method. The longer life and higher reliability of a magnetic recording type file storage device for a magnetic disc device or the like are thus attained.
