NEW MATERIAL:The compound of formula I (R is 1-8C alkyl or benzyl). EXAMPLE:Di(p-benzyloxycarbonylphenyl) terephthalate. USE:Useful as a vermin repellent and a plasticizer for polymers. It has repelling effect to hygienic vermin such as cockroach, termite, etc. Since the compound has excellent plasticizing efficiency to thermoplastic polymers, it increases the flexibility, elasticity and plasticity of the polymer, and has low volatility.
