The invention relates to a process for producing profile side-impact trim strips or the like and proposes, for simple production of an improved strip form, providing a support profile 3 comprising, for example, metal with in places a minimally thin, firmly adhering plastics layer, preferably flexible PVC (polyvinyl chloride), placing said support profile 3, after cutting to size, cold in an injection mould and then injection coating it with plastic to the final dimensionally exact plastics profile (1 and 2, Figs. 1 and 2). <IMAGE>
