Transilluminating unit for microscopes

The transilluminating unit according to the invention is used as an add-on unit for light microscopes. The aim of the invention is an illuminating unit which makes it possible to extend a reflected light microscope to transillumination in a simple way without permanently installed components for transillumination. The object to be achieved consists in producing a compact illuminating unit which requires little space, is easy to mount and has a minimum of exposed optical surfaces. This object is achieved according to the invention when the components required to realise the illuminating beam path are arranged in a preferably sealed carrier part which can be mounted on the microscope below the object stage.
