PURPOSE:To display a record as close as possible to true submarine topography by removing effect on vertical variations on an underwater moving body with a compensation to ensure a constant depth when a reflected signal is shown on a display. CONSTITUTION:A sound wave (b) transmitted is reflected from a stratum below the surface of the sea bottom to be inputted into a wave receiving section 3, an acoustic signal is converted into an electrical signal and transmitted to an amplifying section 5. With the amlifying section 5, the sound wave is amplified to compensate for a loss caused by attenuation in the propagation thereof underwater and through the stratum of the sea bottom. In this manner, various amplification processings are performed to ensure an optical indication on a display section 7. Then, an A/D converter section 10 temporarily memorizes one sweep of received signals into a one sweep memory 11. When the reading of the one sweep memory 11 is done by a signal of a depth detecting section 4 sychronizing the subsequent transmission reference signal, the memory is controlled with a memory control section 14 to compensate for the resulting difference. |
