<p>A spool shaped device (1) and a method for simultaneously cleaning the teeth, cheeks, lips and tongue and massaging the gums. The spool-shaped device (1) has a tubular central body portion (13). A first flange portion (5) is attached to an end of the central body portion (13) and a second flange portion (7) is attached to an another end of the central body portion (13). The first flange portion (5) preferably has a convex outer surface (29) and a concave inner surface (25). The second flange portion (7) preferably has a convex inner surface (27) and a concave outer surface (31). The device (1) is placed between the teeth and, when pressure is applied, the central body portion (13) collapses and the inner surface (25) of the first flange portion (5) and the inner surface (27) of the second flange portion (7) make contact with the surfaces of the teeth and gums to provide cleaning and massaging action. The device (1) preferably includes projections (11) and cavities (9) on the inner surfaces (25, 27) of the flange portions (5, 7) to provide additional cleaning action.</p> |
