PURPOSE:To produce the titled compound useful as a raw material of a thiatriazinedione derivative which is useful as a plant blight controlling agent, in high yield, by reacting a specific allophanoyl chloride derivative with an aniline derivative. CONSTITUTION:The objective biuret derivative of formula III can be prepared either by reacting the allophanoyl chloride derivative of formula I (R1 is lower alkyl or cycloalkyl which may be substituted with lower alkyl) with the aniline derivative of formula II (R2 is H, halogen or lower alkyl; n is 1-5), or by reacting the bischlorocarbonylamine derivative of formula IV with the aniline derivative of formula II. The former reaction is carried out in the presence of more than equivalent of a dehydrochlorination agent at 0-100 deg.C, and the latter reaction is carried out in the presence of >=2 equivalent of a dehydrohalogenation agent at -30-100 deg.C. The objective compound can be produced in high yield.
