PURPOSE:To obtain a recording paper driving apparatus, whose noise is small, by providing a coupling, which has a cylindrical rigid body and an elastic body that is formed in the rigid body, at a part of a power transmitting means. CONSTITUTION:One end of a driving shaft 9 on the side of a driving motor 11 is linked to a rotary shaft 22 of said driving motor by way of a coupling 21, which has a cylindrical rigid body and an elastic body that is located in the rigid body. Only the other side of the driving shaft is rotatably supported by a bearing 23. The cylindrical rigid body 31 is fixed to one end of the driving shaft 9 by one or a plurality of screws 32. The elastic body 33 is formed in the inside of the rigid body 31 and supported by the rotary shaft 22. Said elastic body 33 is fixed to the rotary shaft 22 and the rigid body 31 by the methods of compression, welding, bonding or the like.
