To increase the stability of the housing of the safety-belt retraction device, there is arranged above the belt shaft (20) on the inner-wall face or outer-wall face of each of the two housing-frame side plates (11, 111), depending on the pull-out direction of the belt, a supporting and securing element (60), on which the belt shaft (20) is supported with its circumference, the housing frame at the same time serving for absorbing the forces when the detent pawl engages into the external toothing of the pawl wheel, for which purpose a force-flux transfer face (145b), supported on a counterface (145) of the perforation (14, 114), is provided on the detent pawl (40; 140) in the event of pulling forces acting on the belt when the detent pawl is in the engaged position. <IMAGE>
