The invention relates to a multi-layered paper sack, in particular for bulk materials, having a closed bottom and a filling opening at the other end, the layers of the folded-flat sack, starting from the lowest layer, projecting beyond the respective higher layer in the manner of steps in the longitudinal direction of the sack in the region of the open end, and the projecting ends of the layers forming connecting portions. In order to simplify handling of the paper sack before, during and after filling and to enable it to be closed tightly, the connecting portions at least of the layers forming the lower sack wall are each to have two incisions which are arranged spaced apart and extend in the longitudinal direction of the sack, starting from the free edge of the respective connecting portion, up to the free edge of the first connecting portion without an incision, and the incisions of the respective higher connecting portion are to be arranged offset towards the centre of the sack.
