PURPOSE:To form the cable with the gas dam which has excellent gastightness by storing the exposed part of a core in a sleeve and charging a filler, and providing a sealing material to both the sleeve and core coating. CONSTITUTION:The core of the optical fiber cable is exposed to necessary length and the exposed part is sheathed with the sleeve 22. Then, the filler 23 for gas tightness is injected from a sleeve end and caked. Then, the sleeve 22 and coating 16 of the optical fiber are both sealed 24 together with an instantaneous adhesive, etc., to prevent the entry of gas. Then, a rod 6 made of FRP is fixed between a batten plate 7 and a flange 8 to form a cage shape, which is filled with a filler 11 for dam formation to form a gas dam part 12. Consequently, the optical fiber cable with the gas dam which has superior gastightness is formed. |
