<p>1. Method for the gradual fragmentation of stones by way of a movable breaker comprising a rotor (9) which is height adjustable relative to a frame (1) equipped with hammers (10) which are fixed rigidly and regularly to the rotor periphery and distributed in a plurality of parallel and regularly spaced rows according to a staggered arrangement and, during rotation of the said rotor (9), brush against an anvil (17) attached to the frame (1) parallel to the rotor (9), characterised in that the method consists of the stones being pushed by the rotor (9) during the movement thereof, of restraining the said stones, and of the stones remaining under the frame (1) against the rotor (9) upstream of the anvil (17) until sufficient fragmentation is achieved by a nibbling action to allow the stones to be thrown rearwardly by passing between the hammers (10) and carried along by the successive rows of hammers.</p> |
