TREATMENT OF WASTE WATER CONTAINING PHOSPHATE

PURPOSE:To progress quickly crystallization reaction by adding Ca salt according to need to waste water contg. phosphate and adjusting pH then passing the water through the 1st column in which a specific dephosphorizing material is packed then adding the Ca salt thereto and passing the water through the 2nd column in which the dephosphorizing agent is packed. CONSTITUTION:The Ca salt is added according to need to the waste water contg. phosphate and the pH is adjusted to <=9, then the water is passed through the 1st column packed with the granular dephosphorizing material consisting essentially of MgO. The Ca salt is added to the waste water through the 1st column and thereafter the water is passed through the 2nd column in which the granular dephosphorizing material is packed. The dephosphorizing material to be packed in the 2nd column is not limited to the material consisting essentially of said MgO and may be rock phosphate and bone ash. The efficient crystallization reaction is made possible by the above-mentioned method and the considerable reduction in the amt. of the dephosphorizing material to be packed is made possible.
