PURPOSE:To enhance the retaining force of a welt and manufacture the welt unexpensively by having at least a part of a retaining lip consist of both a main lip projecting from the internal peripheral part of the welt, and sub lips projecting from said main lip. CONSTITUTION:A primary retaining lip 3 is integrally mounted on one side wall parts 2a of a base part 2 having U-shaped cross-section. The primary retaining lip 3 consists of both a main lip 4 extending obliquely to the proximal position of an upper wall part 2c and a plurality of sub lips 5 projecting from the face opposing to the other side wall part 2b of the main lip 4. A plurality of secondary retaining lips 6 are integrally formed on the internal peripheral part of the other side wall part 2b. When a welt 1 is mounted on the flange 8 of a car body panel 7, the primary retaining lip 3 can enhance the retaining force thereof because said lip is urged against the surface of the flange 8 by the double reaction of the recovery force of the main lip 4 and the recovery forces of the sub lips 5. |
