PURPOSE:To obtain always a filter for a range hood unnecessary for cleanup by subjecting the collected oil to chemical decomposition automatically and maintaining always it in a cleansed state. CONSTITUTION:The air contg. lamp soot generated by means of cooking is passed between plural L-shaped rectangular bodies A1, B2 but the oil collide with the rectangular bodies A1, B2 and is stuck thereon. The catalyst previously stuck on the surface of the above-mentioned rectangular bodies A1, B2 is acted by conducting a current through a heater 3 and over-heating and the oil is decomposed to steam and carbon dioxide to cleanse the surfaces of the rectangular bodies A1, B2. As a result, the drop of oil can be prevented and the filter is always untaken off and its washing is unnecessary by collecting the oil of lamp soot generated by means of cooking, subjecting it to chemical decomposition and always cleansing the filter.
