PURPOSE:To perform effective deodorization in a scrubber, by controlling the temperature in an exhaust gas at the outlet of a furnace so that the temperature is to be higher than a predetermined temperature, by lowering the degree of water content in loaded sludge by throwing dried sludge into a multi-staged furnace of upright type together with the remainder of dehydrated sludge. CONSTITUTION:Dried sludge of which water content is dried down to nearly 20% by an pneumatic drier 3 is collected by a cyclone 7, loaded on a sludge mixing pallet 4, mixed with the remainder dehydrated sludge (a), and is thrown into a multi-staged incinerator 8 from its top opening. Combustion air is fed into the combustion stage 11 of a multi-staged furnace 8 by a combuston air fan 13. Exhaust gas (c) after combustion is exhausted from the top opening of a furnace in the temperature higher than 500 deg.C, after being utilized as a heating source to dry sludge on a drying stage 10. The exhaust gas from the furnace 8 is utilized by the pneumatic drier 3 as a heating source. With such an arrangement, concentration of odor in the gas can be alleviated. |
