PURPOSE:To paint efficiently with a robot by discriminating the opening and shutting of the lid of a material to be painted on a conveyor line, and operating a painting robot only when the lid is opened. CONSTITUTION:When a material 2 to be painted arrives at a position corresponding to the opened lid detecting switch 12, the light from a photoreceptor 12A to a photoreceptor 12B is interrupted by a lid 5 when the lid 5 is opened. Consequently, the opening of the lid is discriminated, a robot body 14 is operated, and a painting agent is sprayed to the inside of the material 2 to be painted by a painting machine 15. When the lid 5 is shut, the program is ended. The inside of the material to be painted is painted without fail in this way.
