PURPOSE:A bonding composition, containing a graft copolymer obtained by subjecting a cyclic ester to ring opening reaction in the presence of a cellulosic derivative, and capable of giving precoating layers having improved heat and solvent resistance. CONSTITUTION:A bonding composition obtained by reacting a cyclic ester, e.g. propiolactone or beta-butyrolactone, polymerizable by ring opening reaction in the presence of at least one of cellulosic derivative containing 1-20wt% hydroxyl groups in the molecule, e.g. cellulose acetate or ethyl cellulose and a catalyst at 120-230 deg.C for 0.1-96hr, and dissolving the resultant graft copolymer in an organic solvent.
