PURPOSE:To relieve erroneous inputting caused by a simple mistake by not recording data that indicate inadequacy in the case of erroneous inputting due to simple mistake and recording data indicating inadequacy in the case of other erroneous inputting when collating passwords. CONSTITUTION:A CPU3 makes a password collating section 7 collate password number supplied by a user and password stored beforehand in a data memory 4. When the result of collation is a coincidence signal, it is outputted as it is to a CPU11. In the case of a discordance signal due to mistake of one figure, a discordance signal indicating reinputting acceptable is outputted to the CPU11. In the case where the result of decision from a deciding circuit is a discordance signal due to mistake of more than two figures, the CPU3 counts up a discordance counter provided in the data memory 4, and when this count value is within a specified number, outputs a discordance signal indicating reinputting acceptable to the CPU11, and when above-mentioned count value becomes specified number, outputs an unusable signal that indicates invalidity of the IC card to the CPU11. |
