PURPOSE:To control substitutingly by another CPU when one CPU is abnormal, by providing each CPU with a transmitting means of call data peculiar to devices to be controlled and providing each of devices to be controlled with a means which discriminates call data and transmits back a response. CONSTITUTION:Serial interfaces provided for individual CPUs 1-5 are connected directly acorss CPUs 1, 2, and 5 or CPUs 3 and 5 to constitute a serial bus. Each CPU is provided with the means which transmits call data peculiar to devices 11-13, 20, 31, 32, and 41 to be controlled, and each device to be controlled is provided with the means which discriminates call data and transmits back a response if the device itself is called. Since CPUs recognise responses to execute data communication, coillision of communication is prevented, and serial interfaces can be connected directly across plural CPUs. Thus, the CPU2 executes the control of devices 11-13 for the CPU1 when the CPU1 is abnormal. Further, if the CPU5 is provided for backup, the abnormal CPU1 is substituted with the CPU5 to reduce the load of the other CPUs.
