<p>PURPOSE:To adjust the width of a sheet material with high accuracy by detecting the width of the sheet material and exerting the tension of the magnitude corresponding to the detected value to the sheet material in the passing direction thereof. CONSTITUTION:An inlet side roller group 10 is constituted of brake tension rollers 12, 14 and rotational force is exerted thereto by a motor 16. An outlet side roller group 20 is constituted of tensioning rollers 22, 24 and rotational force is applied thereto by a motor 26. A strip 30 advances along the peripheral surfaces of the rollers 12, 14 and the rollers 22, 24 and is passed in an S-shape. The width of the strip 30 entering the roller group 10 is detected by using a detector and the output of the motor 16 or the motor 26 is regulated according to the detected value so that the rotating speed of the rollers 22, 24 is made higher than the rotating speed of the rollers 12, 14 and that the tension is exerted to the strip 30 existing between the inlet side roller group 10 and the outlet side roller group 20. The width of the thin sheet material is thus adjusted with high accuracy.</p> |
