PURPOSE:To prevent degradation of the elliptic polarization rate even if a coupler having asymmetrical performations for coupling is used, by providing a polarizing converter and the coupler so that a phase difference plate having <90 deg. phase shift and perforations for coupling are in the same plane. CONSTITUTION:A phase difference plate 6 and perforations 5 for coupling are so formed that they are in the same plane, and the polarization direction of incident linearly polarized waves is at 45 deg. to the phase difference plate 6 and perforations 5 for coupling. If the phase shift quatity of the phase difference plate 6 is adjusted properly, 90 deg. phase difference is given to component waves vertical to the phase difference plate 6 and perforations 5. Consequently, an incident linearly polarized wave is converted to an elliptically polarized wave of a low elliptic polarization rate as the synthetic wave of two waves different in phase by 90 deg. after passing a polarizing converter 1 and a coupler 2. Thus, degradation of the elliptic polarization rate is prevented even if the coupler having asymmetrical perforations for coupling is used. |
