摘要 PURPOSE:To obtain a novel photoreceptive member having sensitivity to light by forming a photoreceptive layer which has >=1 pairs of non-parallel boundaries within a short range and of which the non-parallel boundaries are arranged in a large number in at least one direction within the plane perpendicular to the layer thickness direction. CONSTITUTION:The inclination of a slope is specified from the pitch of the recesses on the surface of a base and the max. depth of said recesses and the max. difference in the layer thickness occurring in the nonuniformity in the layer thicknesses of the respective layers deposited on the base is determined as the conditions to prevent an interference fringe pattern. The photoreceptive member 1004 has the photoreceptive layer 1000 on the base 1001 for the photoreceptive member and has a free surface 1005 on one end face. The 1st layer (G)1002 constituted of the photoreceptive layer a-SiGe(H, X), the 2nd layer (S) 1003 constituted of a-Si(H, X) and having photoconductivity and the surface layer 1006 are successively laminated thereon. The germanium atoms incorporated in the 1st layer (G) are continuously and uniformly distributed in the layer thickness direction as well as in the in-plane direction parallel with the surface of the base.
