摘要 PURPOSE:To make a strict centering and positioning unnecessary by finding the maximum and minimum values of during scanning with scanning both curved faces of a diameter's direction of a material to be measured with a probe of a detector and by detecting the movement length of a detector with a measuring mechanism. CONSTITUTION:In case an outer diameter measurement is performed by using this instrument, a probe 15 is rotated clockwisely on a figure by a rotary table 3 and the maximum value G1P of the output of detector during the rotation is stored and after the rotation of the prescribed angles it is stopped at a point (c). The probe 15 is then moved until a position (g) with the rotation in clockwise direction of the rotary table 3 and the minimum value G2P of the detector of that time is stored. Afterward the probe 15 is retreated to a point (h) and returns to an original point (a) with rotation, and the motion cycle of measurement is completed. Then the maximum value detected with said detector and the absolute value of the minimum values are stored and with addition to the read value M1 of a digital scale after A/D conversion it is indicated as a diameter. In this case a strict centering and positioning become unnecessary.
