PURPOSE:To perform colored picture outputting operations quickly at a high speed, by measuring its actual printing density by using a standard pattern after outputting a test pattern once from a colored picture outputting device. CONSTITUTION:A standard pattern plate 30 is prepared and overlapped with a test pattern 20 and it is checked that to which step number of step patterns 21- 23, by which pictures are actually outputted, a prescribed standard density of the standard pattern plate 30 corresponds. The step number 24 of the step patterns 21-23 almost equal to the density of standard patterns 31 and 32 is respectively found with respect to Y, M, and C and the step number 24 is respectively inputted into a colored picture device for Y, M, and C. A colored picture outputting device calculates a gain G and offset S for finding the standard density and sets the constant, etc., of a circuit system.
