The food prod. is put in a container of a non-heat conducting material e.g. paper, which is open at the top. This package is then put in a metal cartridge which is one of many on a moving conveyor. The surface is then heated until it browns. The metal cartridges pass on a conveyor belt through an IR oven. They are fixed to the conveyor. There is a catch in the bottom of each cartridge to prevent the misplacing of the food containers. The cartridges have open sides in the direction perpendicular to the movement of the conveyor. These permit refilling with food containers. The edges of the containers are covered by the cartridges to prevent burning. |
