PURPOSE:To realize a higher recording density with simple mechanism by making an electromagnetic wave incident from a face opposite to a recording medium face to which an electrode terminal of a signal scanning device comes close. CONSTITUTION:The electromagnetic wave incident from the face opposite to the recording medium face to which an electrode terminal of an electrode 9 of a recording element S comes close is used as laser light. Then the intensity of the laser light is selected to a value heating the said recording layer to a temperature slightly lower than the temperature causing the phase change in constituting material of the recording layer. Thus, the signal scanning element S having the very thin electrode 9 in recording and reproducing the information signal is used, and then the information signal is recorded on the recording layer of the information recording medium D in the state of very high recording density and the information signal is reproduced. |
