PURPOSE:To facilitate attachment and detachment of a gear to and from an engine by arranging a speed change mechanism between an input side rotating member and an output side rotating member, and hermetically sealing in a liquid-tight manner the speed change gear mechanism in a rotary housing in which is sealed a lubricating oil. CONSTITUTION:A speed change mechanism comprising a centrifugal clutch 6, a planetary gear 7, and a one-way clutch 8 is disposed between an input side rotary member 2 and a rear cover 4. The speed change mechanism is housed in the rotary housing 3 connected to a rear cover 4, and the rotary housing 3 is hermetically sealed in a liquid-tight manner by sealing members 12, 16-18, 54 to seal the lubricating oil within the rotary housing 3. By this procedure, it is possible to provide the speed changer as a unit completely independent from other members. The speed changer according to the present invention has a compatibility with the ordinary pulley which is not provided with a speed change mechanism and is easily mounted on the conventional engine. |
