PURPOSE:To perform the on-line analysis of a molten metal, by blowing inert gas into the molten metal and recovering fine particles formed as a splash while feeding inert gas to the quantometer of a plasma exciting source from a manufacturing site. CONSTITUTION:A fine particle forming probe 1 is immersed in molten steel 2 and Ar-gas is introduced into the introducing port 4 of the probe 1 from a bomb 15 to be bubbled in the molten steel 2. Next, the molten steel is splashed to be formed into fine particles in a fine particle forming chamber 8 while said fine particles are fed from a fine particle discharge pipe 6 by the Ar-gas and fed to a high frequency induction coupled plasma quantometer 10 where analyzed by a plasma torch 11 and a spectroscope 12. In this case, because steel is not pulverized into fine particles by evaporation but by physical action, fine particles does not receive the influence of selective evaporation by the kind of a metal component. Therefore, because molten steel is splashed into fine particles and fed to a precise analyzer, analysis can be performed in a real time with high accuracy. |
