PURPOSE:To perform the inspection of a welding wire, especially, a longitudinal welding wire with good accuracy, by such a light wt. and simply handleable apparatus that a probe is provided to the inner peripheral side of a circumferential track part provided so as to surround a curved pipe and moved on a fan shaped track along the radius of curvature of the curved pipe by a drive apparatus. CONSTITUTION:A circumferential track part 3 is constituted of a circumferential track 3a surrounding a curved pipe 1, a probe 6 moved by a circumferential direction drive apparatus 5 and a roller 11 for determining the position of the circumferencial track 3a on the circle concentric to the curved pipe 1. A fan shaped track part 2 consists of fan shaped tracks 2a, 2b provided at the same radius of curvature as a longitudinal welding wire 7 corresponding to the radius of curvature of the curved pipe 1 and one end thereof is attached to the circumferencial track 3a while the other end thereof is connected to a drive apparatus 10. At first, the track holder 10a of the apparatus 10 is fixed to the desired position of the curved pipe 1 and the tracks 2a, 2b are arranged so as to be coincided with the welding wire 7. Next, the tracks 3a, 2a, 2b are connected and the probe 6 is located so as to be coincided with the welding wire 7. Hereupon, if a motor 12 is rotated, the probe 6 moves along the welding wire 7 and ultrasonic beam from an ultrasonic flaw detector 27 is allowed to irradiate the curved pipe 1 to perform welding inspection. |
