<p>The process comprises reaction of 2 (((5-(trifluoromethyl) 6-methoxy-1-naphthalenyl) thioxomethyl)-thio) acetic acid with N-methyl glycine in a basic medium and solvent. The prod., N-((5-trifluoromethyl) 6-methoxy-1-naphthalenyl) thioxomethyl) N-methyl glycine, is sepd. in the usual way. - The reaction is partic. effective in water with or without methanol admixture and at 20-30 deg.C. The basis medium is e.g. sodium carbonate in a 2:1 molar ratio relative to the N-methyl glycine, used e.g. in 5-10% excess relative to the stoichiometric reaction 1:1 molar ratio.</p> |
