PURPOSE:To provide an unexpensive air conditioner and improve the mounting work property thereof by making such control of an air conditioner that the temperature thereof may be proportional to a temperature indicating value computed on the basis of a difference between preset value and room temperature and is agreeable to dehumidifying operation mode and energy saving operation mode. CONSTITUTION:An indicating value operating part 34 includes an integrating circuit 35 for responding to both a temperature setting volume 24 and a room temperature sensor 20 so as to integrate difference between a temperature setting volume value and a room temperature. The integrated result is proportional to external loading condition and the absolute value of said result is increased because room temperature takes long duration to reach set temperature when an air conditioner is placed under great cooling/heating load while said value thereof is reduced when the air conditioner is placed under low cooling/heating load. A temperature indicating value V' is therefor obtained by multiplying the absolute value by an appropriate gain. Flow rate of a blower 10, opening of an air mix damper 18, and outlet air temperature of an evaporator 15 are placed under control proportional to the temperature indicating value and agreeable to request for dehumifying and energy saving operation modes.
