<p>The sectional member (9) is esp. for connecting two adjoining motor vehicle body panels (6,7) at a corner. It comprises sectional portions (10,11), of which the web (24) lies against one outer surface of the panel whilst a separate sectional element has a web (16) against the opposite inner surface. Each sectional element has a U-section channel (17) of which the sides (19,20) extend at right angles to its web towards the portion, at least one side (20) having a toothed profile. Each portion has a similar U-section channel of which the sides (21,22) engage the outer faces of the sides (19,20) when secured, at least one side (22) having a toothed profile engaging that of the toothed side (20). Each channel may have internal ribs (27) for engagement by a screw (26) through a bore (25) in the web to expand the sides. Each element (14,15) pref. has an edge (13) engaging an internal groove (12).</p> |
