Tomato plants are cultivated in a temp. controlled insulated room with enclosing walls, and a door. The plants, in containers, are suspended from rails, and vertical positioned tubular lamps are spaced between the plants. The insulated temperature controlled space (1) includes a floor (2) walls (3,4), a door (5) and a roof (6). Suspended from the roof are looped rails (7) along which runners (8) are movable. Plant carriers (9) suspended from wires (10) are connected to the runners. Supports (12) carry vertical tubular lamps, which selectively illuminate the plants. |
